An appealing pair of original lino prints by artist James Henry Wess. Wess was born in Liverpool in 1933. He attended Liverpool College of Art, his first solo exhibition was at The Manor House, Ilkley.

He was primarily a sculptor but painted continuously throughout his life. Many of his early work is heavily driven by his interest in sculpture and ceramic design.

This pair of lino prints are on paper and mounted onto thin card. The card they’re on measures 38.5cm x 28cm. Each lino print measures 24cm x 14cm.

Signed by Wess and dated 1955 or possibly 65. It’s an example from fairly early in his art career.
