Original striking mixed media artwork by artist James Henry Wess. Wess was born in Liverpool in 1933. He attended Liverpool College of Art, his first solo exhibition was at The Manor House, Ilkley.

He was primarily a sculptor but painted continuously throughout his life. Many of his early work is heavily driven by his interest in sculpture and ceramic design.

An unusual composition created with a combination of ink, oil pastels and a watercolour wash. Done on card/thin board.

Possibly faintly signed in the corner but definitely not clear. Came from a portfolio of other work from the mid 1950s-1960s.
