Interior Hearth Original Oil Painting By Glenys Forster Wess (1933-2024)

A beautifully painted atmospheric scene painted in oils by Glenys Wess (nee Forster). Glenys successfully exhibited her work, including an exhibition focussed on interiors, which is likely what this painting was intended for.
Her husband James was also a known artist, sculptor and teacher. There is little information readily available online about Glenys, but she spent much of her life in West Yorkshire.
Oil on board- there is some information on the back which doesn’t relate to this painting, so it’s highly likely this painting was painted over another to save on buying a new board.
Frame is typical of the 1960s/1970s, with a linen and gilt decorative combination.
Frame measures 63.5cm x 47cm
Aperture measures 48cm x 32cm
