Arts & Crafts Movement Oak Sideboard Dresser
A handsome compact dresser made during the Arts & Crafts movement around the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th.
It’s a compact size but packed with great design details. The central door on the top of the dresser has a highly decorative repousse brass door front. The metalwork details expand to the hinges, handles and key holes.
Both the alcoves and the top of the dresser have plate ditches to keep your plates safely up right.
There are the original working keys.
The left side cupboard has a concealed secret drawer within.
There is some general light surface wear to the dresser base, mostly on the top. A long time ago, the internal shelves have been lined with wallpaper, it’s stuck in place. It doesn’t peel off but not in one piece, so will take a little patience if buyer wants to remove. There is a distinct woody/tobacco smell to the inside of the cupboards, smells like someone may have kept their pipe tobacco at some point.
