This original c.1930s era armchair doesn’t have its original period upholstery but it has been well looked after over the years. It’s currently upholstered in a sateen cotton but also has a contemporary custom made brocade cover which fits tightly over the entire chair, drastically altering the appearance of the chair.

The chair has a sprung base underneath a feather filled seat cushion. The springs are firm and in place. The feather filled cushion is very plump, it was most likely replaced in recent years.

One of the four brass castor wheels has been replaced with a later equivalent.

The dark cotton sateen upholstery has some cat damage down the front edges, mostly on one side. There is also some general wear on other areas of the fabric- nothing detrimental, typical for its age.

The removable cover is a soft pearly colour with a delicate terracotta red brocade pattern. The cover is in good condition with only very light wear.
