A novelty Victorian walnut locket pendant paired with a Sterling Silver chain. The walnut is not marked but tests as silver. The chain is stamped silver.

The walnut doesn’t have a clasp which keeps it closed completely, the two halves loosely slide from side to side. One half of the inside of the walnut has a removable glass cover for protecting a photograph or other tiny memento. The second half is hollow, it’s not clear if or what there used to be in this half. These fun Victorian lockets were often used to contain things like little smelling salt bottles or dried perfumes.

Walnut measures 3cm from the loop to the tip, not including bail. Chain length 24”/60cm.
