Original mixed media artwork by artist James Henry Wess. Wess was born in Liverpool in 1933. He attended Liverpool College of Art, his first solo exhibition was at The Manor House, Ilkley.

He was primarily a sculptor but painted continuously throughout his life. Many of his early work is heavily driven by his interest in sculpture and ceramic design.

This mixed media artwork is a combination of pen & ink, oil pastels with a watercolour wash. This razor clam like form features in a number of his work.

Measures 32.5cm x 25.5cm

Possibly faint signature in corner. Came from a portfolio of other work dated from 1955 to the early 1970s.
