Original mixed media artwork by artist James Henry Wess. Wess was born in Liverpool in 1933. He attended Liverpool College of Art, his first solo exhibition was at The Manor House, Ilkley.

He was primarily a sculptor but painted continuously throughout his life. Many of his early work is heavily driven by his interest in sculpture and ceramic design.

This mixed media artwork is a combination of oil pastels with a watercolour wash. It has been mounted onto a white card border.

Mount measures 42cm x 27.5cm.

Aperture measures 34cm x 19cm.

Not clearly signed by Wess, could be under the mount. Came from a portfolio of other work with some art dated as early as 1955.
