A large 19th century watercolour painting of Cavalry soldiers in red uniforms, marching under moonlight. The dark composition is unusual for a painting of this period, especially for a watercolour. The dark blue tones and shadows create intrigue and atmosphere and the cavalry soldiers are not immediately noticeable until you look closer.

There is some aging to the surface of the painting and some dust trapped behind the glass. There are some marks and a few small chips to the gilt frame.
